OCTOBER – Opal and Tourmaline
Opal
The name Opal comes from the Greek word, opallos, meaning to see a change of color. The classic Opal, Australian, is believed to have healing powers, relieve depression and aid the wearer to find real true love. Also know in ancient civilizations a symbol of fidelity. All Opals are sensitive to temperature changes and a very soft stone. The Mexican ‘Fire” Opal bestows courage, stamina and will-power to the wearer.
Tourmaline
The Tourmaline is known for shining several colors in the same gemstone. Depending where the Tourmaline is mined affects the color of the gemstone. Chrome, Green and Pink Tourmaline are found all over the world, even here in New England Watermelon tourmaline is mined and made into beautiful jewelry. Green an be used to treat motion sickness and Chrome promotes joy while Pink stimulates feelings of joy and happiness.
